Questions, Feedback, etc.
I want to answer questions from listeners on the show. If you have a question or even if you have a general subject you’d like me to talk about, please let me know by e-mailing me. You can even remain anonymous, if you want. Just be sure to tell me. I will answer your question via e-mail as well as on the show, so that you don’t have to wait.
Listener Spotlight
If you manage at least one generally family friendly community with at least 10,000 posts and you have headphones, a mic, Skype and high speed, please e-mail me. You only need to e-mail once because I add any possible guests into a pool indefinitely. Just because you e-mail doesn’t mean you’ll be brought on, but I appreciate you putting your name into the hat and I look forward to speaking with you.
Thank you for listening.

Great show.
I have a good question. Where would one get a free review of their bulletin board? Would you recommend a general site, or one dedicated to reviewing only software-specific forums.

Thanks. :)
I think either is useful, depending on what you are looking for. On a software specific one, you will likely find people who know about the software you are running and will therefore focus more on what you have done to it. Whereas, on a general site, you will more likely find people who will just look at the site in general. CommunityAdmins.com is one site that would fit into that latter category.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the fast responce time!
I also feel like I didn’t stay on topic with my question, so here is a comment that is on topic.
At one of the forums I coAdmin, one user was fast becomming a nusiance poster. His warning meter was at a 9/10 and he was booted from one of our exclusive programs.
He decided to edit all of his posts to read: “Deleted” and got to do about 3 of them before he was caught, and banned forever.
What’s your take on this scenario? Do you let users have carte-blance editing rights to their posts? Do you set it to X hours and then they need mod help to edit? I know what I would do, just want to pick your brain a little.

No problem. Thanks for the comment.
I’m not familar with the warning meter that you are using and what 9/10 means.
But, as far as editing posts, I do think it’s a good idea to make it so that posts can only be edited for so long. That time period doesn’t even have to be short or in terms of hours. When you are limiting editing - you are generally trying to limit people from mass editing. And, in my experience, when people decide to do this sort of thing, they aren’t new members, but one’s that have been there for a while. So, they will have been there for a while. So, if the time span is not short, they will be able to get more recent posts, but not all of their posts. The shorter it is, the more flexibility that you trade in. And, certain things, such as activity, can certainly make it more or less worth it.
Hope that does something for you. :)
Thanks again.
