Show Notes
- 0:00:07: Welcome.
- 0:00:19: One year doing the show! Thank you to everyone who listens to the show, supports the show and encourages me to do it. Thanks to Cameron at TPN, as well.
- 0:01:28: What I’m thankful for as a community administrator.
- 0:05:16: Getting lost in what “competitors” are doing.
- 0:06:33: Giving gifts to your staff during the holidays.
- 0:08:37: Re-visiting of bot protection methods mentioned in episode #18. Brought up by RedMatrix. phpBB hacks mentioned: The Humanizer, Advanced Visual Confirmation and Visual Confirmation on New Posters.
- 0:10:58: I want audio questions (see below)!
- 0:13:00: Farewell.
Questions, Feedback, etc.
I want to answer questions from listeners on the show. If you have a question or even if you have a general subject you’d like me to talk about, please let me know by e-mailing me. You can even remain anonymous, if you want. Just be sure to tell me. I will answer your question via e-mail as well as on the show, so that you don’t have to wait.
Audio Questions
In addition to regular old questions through e-mail, I also accept audio questions. If you have a question and a mic, please record yourself, save it as a .mp3 and send it to me. Feel free to mention your site. Please keep in mind that the show is both family and work friendly, so your question and site must fit within that. But, if it does and the question fits in a show, I’ll be glad to include your audio clip in an episode.
Listener Spotlight
If you manage at least one generally family friendly community with at least 10,000 posts and you have headphones, a mic, Skype and high speed, please e-mail me. You only need to e-mail once because I add any possible guests into a pool indefinitely. Just because you e-mail doesn’t mean you’ll be brought on, but I appreciate you putting your name into the hat and I look forward to speaking with you.
Thank you for listening.

Thanks for answering my question on the show. That was a nice surprise. If I had known you would have mentioned the “website,” I would have put a more well-knowned one up.
I am glad these trio hacks have helped you out. We are getting more and more over on AdminFusion and LostDiscussion.
You hardly mention the URL of your board, and I feel you should do it or link to it on every episode.

Thanks for the comment. No problem. :)
I try not to mention my sites indescriminately, only if I’m talking about a specific situation and it pops out of my mouth, mostly. I do mention CA at the end of every episode, though, starting a few episodes back.
Maybe I’ll create a bio page and link my name in the right menu to it, rather than to my e-mail address. Not sure.

Great show Patrick, good content especially for the time of the year.
You’ll be getting some audio questions from me. but I’ve yet to find software to deepen my voice. :P
