  • 0:00:07: Welcome.
  • 0:00:30: Managing a community takes commitment.
  • 0:03:10: Backing up your forums (inspired by a thread on SitePoint Forums).
  • 0:06:04: Using news bots to post articles on your community.

  • 0:13:27: Farewell.

Questions, Feedback, etc.

I want to answer questions from listeners on the show. If you have a question or even if you have a general subject you’d like me to talk about, please let me know by e-mailing me. You can even remain anonymous, if you want. Just be sure to tell me.

Listener Spotlight

If you manage at least one generally family friendly community with at least 10,000 posts and you have headphones, a mic, Skype and high speed, please e-mail me. You only need to e-mail once because I add any possible guests into a pool indefinitely. Just because you e-mail doesn’t mean you’ll be brought on, but I appreciate you putting your name into the hat and I look forward to speaking with you.

Thank you for listening.

Edit: I just realized that this show was posted in the wrong category, so it may not have automatically displayed for podcast subscribers. Sorry for the confusion.

Next Show Delayed

August 18th, 2006

The next show will be delayed two weeks. This is due to me moving from West Springfield, MA to Harbinger, NC. I’m now in my new house, but I have a lot of work to do and it’s just not possible right now. I apologize for the delay. In the meantime, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or content suggestions. Thanks!

I just wanted to post a reminder to nominate The Community Admin Show in the Podcast Awards. I think the Technology category makes the most sense. So, if you think I’m deserving, I appreciate it. Thanks!

Audio Quality

June 23rd, 2006

I’ve been a little disappointed with the audio quality that I have been able to achieve, so I’ve been working on that (and spending money). After a lot of tinkering, I made a couple of changes that seem to have improved the quality of my audio in what I hope is a noticable way. The next show goes up Friday, so you can be the judge at that time. I apologize for the, at times, sub standard audio quality that I’ve produced previously. It bothers no one more than myself and I’m always trying to improve it. Thanks.
